South Korean ballet group Little Angels was brought to Dubai by President Moon Jae-In to perform at the Republic of Korea’s National Day, alongside Kpop stars PSY and Stray Kids.
Korean artists including the Little Angels, boy band Stray Kids and singers PSY and Sunmi performed for the EXPO 2020 Dubai on Sunday (16th).
The artists were able to feel the global popularity of the Korean wave for themselves as more than 6,000 fans joined them for over two hours of entertainment.
EXPO 2020 Dubai is an event that stretches over several months with 191 participating nations.
The purpose of the event is to learn about the unique architecture, culture and innovations of other countries through the pavilions. Each nation has its own pavilion.
The Korea pavilion K-pop concert was hosted to celebrate the Republic of Korea’s National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his wife Kim Jung-sook attended the concert to offer support to the artists, with the President himself responsible for bringing the Little Angels to the event.
The Little Angels are a dance troupe founded in 1962 by Rev. Sun Myung Moon, in order to project a positive image of South Korea to the world.
The Korean ballet group remain active and successful in their endeavours, as evidenced by their performance alongside global Kpop superstars at the Expo 2020 Dubai.
The theme of the Expo is “Connecting Minds and Creating the Future” through sustainability, mobility and opportunity.
The Korean pavilion is the fifth largest venue at the exposition and features a combination of traditional culture and the latest technology.
The six-month expo was postponed for a year because of the Covid-19 outbreak but returned on Oct. 1st, 2021. It will end on March 31st.
