A young member from our South London community, Dexter Lembikisa, has recently signed his first professional contract with Premier League Football Club, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Dexter Lembikisa, 18 years old, joined Wolverhampton Wanderers five years ago and has since worked hard to progress through the ranks of the club’s academy playing in the wing-back position.
His determination and drive have been rewarded as he signed his first professional contract with the Premier League Football Club.
After signing a scholarship in the summer of 2020, Dexter went on to became a regular member of the under-18s squad, before an unfortunate injury brought his season to a premature end.
Dexter is a part of our South London community and moved from London to Wolverhampton when he was 13 years old to pursue his ambition of being a professional football player.
Scott Sellars, Wolves’ Technical Director, said: “We always try to push players on and challenge them, as we believe this is the best way for them to develop.
“For us, age is irrelevant, it’s about how you play and perform.
“Dexter has had a really good opportunity to kick on this season by being put into a challenging situation, but what he has to do now is keep working hard and keep showing that same mentality to want to learn which has got him to this point in his career.
“If he keeps improving every day, the rest will take care of itself.”
We would like to congratulate Dexter on his excellent achievement and wish him all the best in his football career!
